Honoring Your Boundaries
The new year brings in a perfect milestone to create a different mindset shift.
We’re already one week into the new year, and it’s truly a blessing to have made it this far. Let’s kick this year off intentionally with our Sphynx Glow Series, designed to help us step into a positive, aligned mindset.
This month's focus is being at peace with your boundaries.
If you’re in a season where you feel called to be alone, slow down, and focus on what truly matters, there will naturally be boundaries you may need to set with those around you. It’s important to do this with grace. We don’t want animosity with our loved ones—and if they truly love you, they will support the space you need. During this time, you are building and elevating yourself: your skills, responsibilities, and purpose.
For me, this year requires a level of focus and discipline I’ve never reached before. I’m working on expanding Sphynx Wax Studio into Sphynx Wax Academy, a space for inspiring estheticians and cosmetologists who genuinely want to master proper hair removal techniques. In the beauty industry, women of color are often overlooked when it comes to hair removal education, which has led to far too many negative experiences and kept many from enjoying the true benefits of waxing and skin treatments.
Through this online academy and in-person training, my goal is to reach thousands of professionals and help change the game. With that comes a level of commitment that not everyone will understand. I’ve had to accept that I’m one person, and I may not always meet the expectations others place on me. In this process, prayer has been my safe space.
With that said, I invite you to reflect on the biggest goal you want to accomplish this year. Set the boundaries necessary to protect it, no matter what that looks like for you.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I’ll see you next month for our next Sphynx Glow Series. I’d love to hear your thoughts and how you plan to elevate your glow this year.
With love,
Jasmine Ford
